The New England Patriots are on the brink of going undefeated in the regular season. No other NFL team, except the 1972 Dolphins, have done this. This is creating a huge demand on tickets to the final game of the year.

The Patriots travel to New Jersey to play the New York Giants. The Giants have made the playoffs, so no one knows how hard they will play or what starters will play a considerable amount of time.

Oh, Byron Leftwich. What has happened to your career? You started off so well with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but you are now relegated to filling in for a dog killer.

Leftwich was signed by the Atlanta Falcons to a two year, seven million dollar contract. In the pantheon of salaries, this one doesn't make it to the main hall. Still, he has some worth and the Falcons are desperate.

Now that Michael Vick has plead guilty and found Jesus, it's important to note that he won't be sentenced until December. It seems odd that someone would plead guilty, but then wait four months to be sentenced.

Why is there a delay in sentencing Michael Vick?

I asked the question on a sports forum I post on, and a couple of lawyers replied. They said that there is a pre-sentencing phase where members of the Justice department create reports on Michael Vick. Personality, money, behavior, etc. are all taken into account and then a report is created for the judge. The judge then decides on the penalty.
