Marion Jones continues to lose

There aren't many professional athletes I despise. They can make as much money as they want. They can act as childish as they want. The only time I'll come close to despising an professional athlete is when they cheat. Marion Jones is one of those athletes, and it burns me up the press is treating her comeback attempts with such open arms.

Yes, I know Marion Jones has technically never been found to have used enhancement products. Awesome for her. But what is that saying? If it smells like shit, it probably is shit?

The Balco incident is recent enough history that she should have found a way to retire and move out of the sport. Instead Marion Jones is attempting a comeback, and it's not going very well.

On Friday night in London, Marion Jones can in second to Sherone Simpson. Thank you, Sherone Simpson.

The good news of Marion Jones finishing second was quickly tempered in after race interviews. The LA Times reports she has her eye on the 2008 Bejing Olympics:

One gold medal for me is not going to suffice. I won't be satisfied in Beijing with one gold.

Ugh.

Thank goodness for the English media who have take Marion Jones to task and even asking if Marion Jones is relevant in today's track environment.

She's not. Â
